Features / User Instructions

1. The system can be easily adjusted to suit wet or dry blowers by:
a. Adjusting the number of cartridges in the canister (a minimum of 1, to a maximum of 3), and/or
b. Adjusting the manner in which the cartridges are positioned in the canister (options are to either stack them horizontally (above each other) or position two cartridges vertically over a bottom horizontal cartridge with the air tube between the vertical cartridges).
c. Adjusting the level of the air tube in the canister to either sit down tight on the horizontal cartridge or alternatively to discharge air at a little distance above it.
2. Remaining cartridge life, before the need for its regeneration (drying out), is indicated by the colour of the beads in the cartridges. (Colour will change from orange to green as they become saturated.)
3. When saturated, the cartridges are easily removed by unzipping the bag and opening the canister.
4. Saturated cartridges can be replaced with fresh spares in a few seconds.  This may even be done in the field as the cartridges are easily carried in a pocket or sporran.
5. Heating the cartridges will allow the beads to dry out and to be reused dozens of times. The three supplied cartridges may be all that you will need, although additional sets of cartridges may also be ordered, if desired.
6. During regeneration, the beads are not emptied into a separate container – the cartridges are simply removed from the canister and put into a conventional or microwave oven - on kitchen towel - to dry out. (Conventional oven at 100°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour; Microwave oven for 1 minute max each time at 400 watt max power.  Then wait to cool and repeat this process several times until the beads have returned to orange.
7. The cartridges don’t need to be removed from the pipe bag after each playing session unless the beads are saturated and need to be regenerated.  It depends on the individual blower, the length of the playing session and environmental conditions.
8. All parts of the system can be easily removed from the pipe bag for cleaning.
9. A folded kitchen towel can be placed around the cartridges to soak up liquids accumulating in the canister.  This can be removed and replaced when saturated (e.g. at the end of a playing session).  This is a hygenic feature of the system as a fresh towel (free from bacterial growth) can always be present in the canister.
10,  The beads are non-toxic.
